Maurer Electric is your full service electrical contractor located in Michigan’s Thumb. We specialize in residential, agricultural, commercial, industrial, and medical wiring projects. With over 45 qualified electricians to serve your needs, Maurer Electric can handle the smallest rewiring job to multi-million dollar projects.

We understand that it is our local and loyal customer base that has gotten this far and continues to support us today. We also know that in order to remain a successful business, you must change with the times and stay involved in your community. We have worked to build a reputation for being an honest, fair and dependable service company, and will continue with that policy into the future providing quality products and a dedication to unbeatable service.

We are your Generac generator sales, service and warranty headquarters with portable units and residential stand-by units and automatic transfer switch in stock. We currently have 6 Generac trained service technicians and offer complete 24/7 emergency service.

In addition to our wiring services and generator sales and service, we are proud to offer other specialized services. Maurer also has an on-site motor repair technician with many of the necessary repair parts in-stock including capacitors, bearings, and carbon brushes. For the motor that can’t be fixed, we carry Dayton and US motors in stock. We also have worked on a number of solar power projects, installing electrical wiring for several local solar installation companies.

Maurer Electric has the necessary equipment to get the job done including over 15 service vans, three bucket trucks with maximum boom height of 60 ft, and auger truck, two threnchers including a backhoe and vibratory plow for direct burial, scissor lifts, forklift, and large assortment of scaffolding, wire-pulling and wire locating equipment, power benders and portable pipe threading equipment.

Our Story

Maurer Electric, Inc. is a family owned business started in 1975, currently in its second generation of ownership. In 1984, the business was incorporated in the state of Michigan with Larry Maurer serving as President and Pat Maurer as Vice President, and expanded to include the Bad Axe location. Maurer Electric has grown from a one man operation to over 45 employees over the last 40+ years and continues to foster its growth in today’s economy. In December 2012, ownership interest was sold by Larry and Patt to their daughter and son-in-law Nicole and Jeremy Melnik. Larry is still working with them as an advisor/estimator while Patt is enjoying retirement and spoiling their grandchildren on a more regular basis.
